So I'm back! After a year at home I decided that what I really needed to do was to go out and travel. If you really know me, you know that this past year was a lot of me being totally restless. I HAD to do something! So when the opportunity came, I figured, why not go back to Taiwan??
So this first month was me getting reacquainted with everything I once knew and loved about Taiwan. Riding on the MRT, getting lost, crowded day markets, insanely crowded night markets, and amazingly wonderful, polite people! Nothing could take away from my excitement of coming back!

Except for jetlag. Lots of jetlag.
Here are a few pictures (From an admittedly truly terrible camera) :)

From Elephant mountain, you get a beautiful view of Taipei. This city is gorgeous!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this building??

These two are from my favorite chain, Sushi Express

Mango and Taro smothered shaved ice... might have to do a food-themed update..
|
I wasn't joking about the overly crowded night markets!!
|
These are from Shilin Night Market, the most popular (read: Touristy) in Taipei!

The sunset from Tamsui's Lover's Bridge. I love Taiwan
Last, I know you probably read about Typhoon Soudelor, which recently ravaged several countries, including Taiwan. Taipei was wrecked pretty bad. I stayed in my apartment until long after the storm traveled away, but the whole time wind was blowing so hard my building was swaying (I live on the 12th floor, btw)! After the damage, debris was everywhere. But the people here went to work right away!
I only managed to nap a few pics of some downed trees and debris, but they are only a small sample of the damage this storm did!
So that's it for this month! It's been a great time so far, and I can imagine it's only getting better from here!
Until next month!
